Sam Moody

Actor & Director

I am a professional actor, director and creative.

I have recently returned to the area, having worked as an actor in London for the past 9 years.

I am a graduate of East 15 Acting School 2017, and have since worked on a variety of stage and screen projects – both professionally, fringe, research and development projects and new writing, as both a performer and practitioner.

As a director, I have previously worked with the Young Vic Taking Part Festival, Clapham Fringe Theatre and Tristan Bates Theatre, all based in London. Along with a variety of organisations and projects based in Grimsby and the surrounding area.

I offer masterclass workshops, devised from a foundation in Stanislavski, Meisner, voice work and a variety of practices from my actor training – but I predominantly draw on my own experience from within the industry. A workshop in acting for screen – using real scripts from film and television, helping to shed light on the technique of acting to camera and dissecting a script. A workshop also in self-tape audition technique – all using a professional backdrop, camera and a variety of different scripts suitable to all age groups. Bespoke workshops in theatre practice, character study, movement and writing are all too available to explore. I work primarily with local colleges, schools, theatre and community groups.

I also offer 1 to 1 speech and drama lessons, for those wanting to prepare for drama school auditions, festival pieces, sight reading, Shakespeare and contemporary study – or just overall confidence and delivery.

All either in person or over Zoom.
